Veterans Day, Fountain City Classic and Boosie?! - This Week's Events in Columbus
November 6, 2025 Edition

Veterans Day is this week, so I’d like to give a huge thank you to all our Veterans. It’s also the Fountain City Classic. Both of these have events called out below but there are a lot of accompanying events I didn’t have the chance to highlight. There are cook-outs, tributes, celebrations, parties and more so there’s truly something for everybody. Speaking of something for everybody, does anybody else have Christmas Lights up on their house already? Just me? Oh well, I wanted to get it done before it got cooler and I saw that forecast for next week with frost warnings and that was enough motivation for me.
Enough rambling, let’s get to the good stuff!

It’s time for one of the biggest sporting events of the year. The 35th Annual Fountain City Classic is this Saturday. Let’s be honest though, this is more than just a game. For starters, yes, it’s for bragging rights between Albany State and Fort Valley State. Beyond that though, this is the central theme of tons of other events around town this weekend. Everything from tailgates and brunches to massive after-parties is on the table. So come to the game, but check out all the connected activities as well.

5.👢 Old School vs New School – “Bring Ya Boots” Edition

As I was saying, the Fountain City Classic brings a ton of other, connected events to the city and this is one of the biggest. This is an annual party where the theme for the year is “Bring Ya Boots”. They’re billing it as the largest line dance party ever so you know it’s going to be good.

More Info: Old School vs New School
6.🦎 Reptile Meet & Greet at Chick-fil-A
