Veterans Day, Fountain City Classic and Boosie?! - This Week's Events in Columbus

November 6, 2025 Edition

Veterans Day is this week, so I’d like to give a huge thank you to all our Veterans. It’s also the Fountain City Classic. Both of these have events called out below but there are a lot of accompanying events I didn’t have the chance to highlight. There are cook-outs, tributes, celebrations, parties and more so there’s truly something for everybody. Speaking of something for everybody, does anybody else have Christmas Lights up on their house already? Just me? Oh well, I wanted to get it done before it got cooler and I saw that forecast for next week with frost warnings and that was enough motivation for me.

Enough rambling, let’s get to the good stuff!

Events

1.🎖️ Veterans Day Parade

This annual event honors the brave men and women who have served our nation. The official parade begins at the corner of Dillingham St and Broad in Phenix City then crosses the bridge into Columbus. This is a special opportunity for our community to show our gratitude and respect for our veterans. Bring your family and friends to wave flags and cheer on our local heroes. Expect to see marching bands, community groups, and military units come together to celebrate service and sacrifice.

2.🎩 Boosie Black Tie Experience

Get ready for an unforgettable night as Boosie takes the stage with a full backing orchestra and band for the Black-Tie Experience. This black-tie event promises a unique fusion of hip-hop intensity and live musical elegance. This event does require tickets, and the Civic Center is not a huge venue, so if you’re interested you better check on tickets right away.

3.🎷 Jazz & Classics at the Infantry Museum

Come and celebrate 38 years of the Columbus Jazz Society with a beautiful live jazz experience at the National Infantry Museum. This event features platinum Grammy nominated artist Karyn White. Get ready for rhythm, soul, and sophistication.

  • Location: National Infantry Museum

  • Date: Thursday, Nov. 6

  • Time: 6:00 PM

  • More Info: Jazz and Classics

4.🏈 Fountain City Classic

It’s time for one of the biggest sporting events of the year. The 35th Annual Fountain City Classic is this Saturday. Let’s be honest though, this is more than just a game. For starters, yes, it’s for bragging rights between Albany State and Fort Valley State. Beyond that though, this is the central theme of tons of other events around town this weekend. Everything from tailgates and brunches to massive after-parties is on the table. So come to the game, but check out all the connected activities as well.

  • Location: A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 8

  • Time: Gates open 12 PM; Kickoff 2 PM

  • More Info: Fountain City Classic

5.👢 Old School vs New School – “Bring Ya Boots” Edition

As I was saying, the Fountain City Classic brings a ton of other, connected events to the city and this is one of the biggest. This is an annual party where the theme for the year is “Bring Ya Boots”. They’re billing it as the largest line dance party ever so you know it’s going to be good.

  • Location: Columbus Convention & Trade Center

  • Date: Friday, Nov. 7

  • Time: 8 PM – 12 AM

  • More Info: Old School vs New School

6.🦎 Reptile Meet & Greet at Chick-fil-A

This one is a bit out of left field, but I wanted to throw something different in there and I’ve honestly never heard of a similar event. Oxbow Meadows is bringing their Reptiles on the Road to the Bradley Park Chick-fil-a. Come meet some scaly friends and enjoy a quick and memorable family night. Plus, enjoy a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal from 5-7PM.

  • Location: Chick-fil-A Bradley Park

  • Date: Tuesday, Nov. 11

  • Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

  • More Info: Reptile Meet & Greet
