Toast of the Town, an Urban Bike Race, and Bigfoot?! - This Week's Events in Columbus

March 5, 2026 Edition

In partnership with

Little League season is here. Most of the area’s baseball little leagues kick off their seasons this weekend. Even if you’re not a fan or don’t have kids on a team, it’ll be nice seeing all those people at the parks again. On the event side of things, I believe every single event this week is an annual thing that’s returning. I’m not sure if that has happened previously, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is a first! I like that because if an event is returning, it usually means it was successful in the past and is something people will enjoy. Which of the events below are you hoping to attend?

Enough of the small talk, let's get to the good stuff!

Events

1. 16th Annual Toast of the Town

Toast of the Town is back for its 16th year! Come experience world-class wines, fine foods, hand-crafted beers and Southern spirits at the Grand Tasting. Meet the chefs, vintners and brewmasters behind these creations, or celebrate with the silent auction filled with all sorts of unique treasures. Proceeds from this event benefit the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

  • Location: Convention &Trade Center

  • Date: Friday, Mar 6th

  • Time: 7:00 PM

  • More Info: Toast

2. Urban Mountain Bike Race

This is a really fun and unique event that you don’t see any other time of year. Whether you’re brave enough to ride or just want to watch, you’ll see a fun course with obstacles, wooden banked turns, jumps, and racing through the shop and courtyards of Broadway. Music, fun, friends, and racing all make for a great day to kick off the spring time change. Don’t be mistaken though, this is a real race, with heats, skill levels, champions and awards. Even if you don’t do any biking yourself, this is a fun event to come see in person.

3. Peachy Eats Food Fest

This event is a team-up from The Peach Shoppe and Street Food Saturdays and it promises to be a full-on celebration of all things delicious! It’s not just a food fest, not just a shopping event, it’s an “eat-your-way-through-the-day” kind of event. Come hungry and get ready to have a good time.

4. Foxie 105 Women’s Empowerment Walk

This is yet another returning event for 2026. This health and wellness event will be hosted at Peachtree Mall, so you don’t have to worry about the weather. Come enjoy music, vendors, a fashion show and prizes, in addition to the Women’s Walk itself.

5. 3rd Annual East Alabama Bigfoot Town Hall

You are correct, this event is not in Columbus, but it’s close enough and unique enough that I felt like it deserved its own shoutout. So, what is it exactly? Are the Squatch Seekers true believers or just having a bit of fun? I honestly don’t know, and I suspect the only way to find out is to attend this Town Hall! There will be speakers, performances, food trucks, and “Big Foot energy all day”! Beyond just this town hall, there are bonus events this weekend like the after-hours spaghetti dinner and “night of squatchin’” plus a haunting at the Old Seal Courthouse. If you’re looking for something different and outside the box, it doesn’t get much further outside than this!

  • Location: The Old Seale Courthouse

  • Date: Saturday, Mar 7th

  • Time: 9:00 AM

  • More Info: Bigfoot Town Hall
