Soul Fest, Shine and Holiday Markets - This Week's Events in Columbus

November 27, 2025 Edition

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I’m curious, how do you cook your turkey? We’re a big deep-fried turkey family, but I’ve had some smoked turkeys over the years that were pretty close. Whether you’re hosting family and friends, traveling, or just laying low, I hope everybody has a nice and relaxing holiday. The event calendar certainly isn’t taking a vacation! This is one of those rare weeks where I stretched it to seven events and still left some good stuff out. In the new year, I plan to finally move to twice-a-week posting and then I should be able to cover more stuff.

Grab a plate full of all your favorites and let’s get to the good stuff!

2.🎭 Disney’s Frozen at the Springer

This is a rare appearance for this production at a regional theater like ours. It’s here for a month, but opens this Saturday and I expect solid crowds throughout its run. Based on the Oscar-winning animated film, this adaption includes all the beloved songs your kids love (and let’s be honest, you too), plus some new music. Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is billed as a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love.

  • Location: Springer Opera House

  • Date: Multiple dates, starts Saturday

  • Time: Varied by date

  • Details: Disney’s Frozen

3.🌿 Shine at Botanical Gardens

Here’s another event that runs through December but opens this weekend. SHINE is a light spectacular at Columbus Botanical Garden. If you’ve never been, they really do a good job with this as they tuck a ton of lights into a trail and other festive scenes. Some of the lights from the Ludy’s Christmas spectacular are here as well. In addition to the lights, you can experience photos and letters with Santa, kids’ crafts and educational activities, s’more kits and festive concessions and even a one act play.

  • Location: Columbus Botanical Garden

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025

  • Time: 6:00 PM

  • Details: Shine at Botanical

4.🚗 Uptown Holiday Golf Cart Cruise

Here’s a fun way to see your city in a new way. This is a golf cart cruise through the lights of Uptown and down into the historic district, with a festive stop at the Goetchius House for drinks. For those without a golf cart, PTAP is offering rentals starting at $50 for a four seater. No registration required, just show up and join the fun!

5.🛍️ Bluebelle’s Holiday Outdoor Market

Tis the season! If you want to support local businesses and shop small and local first this holiday season, this outdoor holiday market is the perfect way to get started. They’ll have over 300 combined vendors so you should have something available for everybody in your life! When you get hungry from all the shopping, there will be food trucks to satisfy those cravings.

6.🎁 Holly Jolly Market

Here’s another holiday shopping opportunity. Every Saturday, there’s a great outdoor market down on Broadway. This Saturday, for one day only, it transforms into a festive holiday wonderland. Come shop tons of seasonal treats and treasures while celebrating Small Business Saturday. Whether you come to this, go to Bluebelle, or checkout both, you can’t go wrong.

  • Location: Broadway

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025

  • Time: 9:00 AM–Noon

  • Details: Holly Jolly Market

7.🎄 Christmas at Milltown

We’ll close out this week with one final Christmas activity. Milltown Square, which is the open-to-the-public playground, coffee shop and meeting area in Evangel Church, is hosting this event. It features a meet-and-greet with Santa, cookie decorating, face painting, an indoor sock skating rink and even an outdoor Christmas movie. Plus, they have an on-site Christmas Tree Farm through Napier’s produce, so you can go ahead and grab your tree for the year on the way out.

  • Location: Milltown (Evangel Church)

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025

  • Time: 4:30 PM–8:30 PM

Christmas Events

Because of Thanksgiving and Black Friday, there isn’t much live music in town this weekend, so I’m updating this to a holiday section for holiday specific quick hit events.
