Man, this winter just keeps on coming. I’m sure everybody has seen some of the scarier forecasts for this weekend, though the latest models at least look like things may shift North and just dump a bunch of cold rain on us. Either way, don’t go overboard, but make sure you’re prepared and not caught in an unexpected situation. On the events front, there are some bigger acts in town this week. The RiverCenter kicks things off and the arts schools get involved as well. If the weather is gloomy, that’s a great reason to go to one of these indoor events and have a great time!

One of the most recognized orchestras in the world is coming through Columbus TONIGHT. Led by French conductor Emmanuel Villaume, the Prague Philharmonia will be joined by a rising star violinist in Blake Pouliot and pianist Andrew Von Oeyen. 2.🎩 Illusionists David & Teesha Laflin

This is a family-friendly event, and for those with younger kids who may want to learn some illusions, there is a preshow meet and greet with workshop!

3.✝️ Women’s Conference: Faith Over Fear

This event is actually all weekend long, running Friday through Sunday. Join Greater Beallwood Baptist Church for a weekend filled with prayer, renewal, worship and fellowship. This conference offers a nurturing space for all women to engage in discussions and be part of a community where faith is celebrated and relationships are strengthened. The event is open to all women and you do not need to be a member or visitor of this Church to attend.

4.🏋️ Parking Lot Party & Grand Opening at Amped Fitness

Amped Fitness, a huge new gym and fitness center, is having their Grand Opening this Monday, Jan 26, but before that they’re kicking things off in style with a Parking Lot Party on Saturday! There will be vendors, food, music, free Amped merch and even free member giveaways. If you’re curious about the new gym, Saturday is the perfect chance to check it out before the opening.

5.🎶 Single Wide Shenanigans Brunch

This is another super creative themed brunch event from Hudson’s. I think the image above paints a pretty good picture of what to expect! They’ll have “greasy-in-the-best-way” brunch plates, drinks poured heavy, music that’s “a little too loud”, and crazy attire. They say pajamas are welcome, leopard-print is encouraged and shoes are optional. Honestly, it sounds like one big party!
