April 24, 2025 Edition

Columbus is a rapidly growing and changing city. That can make it difficult to keep up with everything that’s happening in our town! We want to make that easier, so we created the Fountain City Source, a weekly newsletter highlighting the 5 best events happening in Columbus this weekend.

Let’s jump right in!

Events

  1. Market Days on Broadway

    • Every Saturday, beginning at 9am, over 100 local and regional vendors setup on Broadway, selling everything from art to jewelry to produce!

  2. Jazz Appreciation

    • 10am - noon this Saturday, enjoy live Jazz musicians Albert Mara and the Seed’s very own Chris. Located at the new The Seed Coffee and Cafe right on the River. This place is beautiful if you haven’t checked it out yet. Jazz Appreciation at the Seed

Food Scene

There are constantly new restaurants opening and changes happening at some of our favorites. This section highlights the new restaurants and changes in our food Scene in Columbus.

  • Gabagool

    • Located in the old Stock Market Dueling Kitchens, this is one of the most exciting new openings in Columbus. From Hudson Terrell of Animal Farm, Gabagool is a casual Italian American restaurant focusing on the comforting classics like house made pastas, Italian sandwiches, chicken cutlets and the like. It takes heavy influence from iconic mob joints and if you look closely, you’ll find some Easter eggs and references to The Soprano’s and things like that throughout. My wife and I got to try this last week and it was amazing! https://www.gabagoolcolumbus.com/

  • Bytes and Brews

    • While this isn’t a new restaurant, they did recently close for a few weeks and reopened with a brand new menu and concept. The games and arcade items have all been moved upstairs, while the downstairs has been transformed into a taqueria! Check out the new menu here. https://www.bytesandbrewsarcade.com/
