It’s already June! I don’t know about the rest of you, but to me Summer feels like it’s flying by already. This week we’ve got some big performances in town, plus a few festivals. Rather than have a poll or a survey this week, I want to hear from you. If you want to read more (or less) of specific content, or want to see me covering things I’m not, just reply to this email with your thoughts!

1. 🎤 Fantasia & Anthony Hamilton – Live in Concert

Let’s start with a couple names you may recognize! Fantasia and Anthony Hamilton will be live in Concert at the Civic Center tomorrow, June 6. If you’re a fan of live music that moves you, this is the event you won’t want to miss. I just checked and there are still tickets available, with the lowest price currently at $87.

2. 🍖 Bluebelle’s Rib Fest

Any time there is bbq, you know you’re in for a good time. Come enjoy not only all the great vendors at Bluebelle, but multiple food trucks that have been hand-selected to serve up their delicious ribs. This is a family-friendly feast worth digging into!

3. 🐶 Pups in PJs: Summer Edition

Here’s a little something different for the family. This is at Paws Humane Society, so there will be puppies in pajamas along with adult dogs. Enjoy popcorn and other light refreshments plus a movie from 5 to 7. Note that there are actually TWO separate locations for this, the 4910 building and the 4900 building. You may want to check out each before deciding which is a better fit, or which has the cuter puppies.

4. 🎹 Dueling Pianos at The Outskirts Sports Bar & Grill

Ok, so maybe you don’t want to shell out the money for Fantasia, but you want something a little more lively than puppies and a movie. How about dueling pianos at Outskirts? This is a live, all-request, sing-a-long show by The Andrews Brothers. If you’ve never seen dueling pianos before, it can be a ton of fun. They play whatever you ask them to, including any genre, even college fight songs! You can imagine how that can get lively with how passionate folks down here can be.

5. ⚾ Columbus Clingstones vs. Knoxville Smokies

After a couple series on the road, the Clingstones are back in town! They’ll be here with new promotions this week, so whether you’re a regular or have yet to check out a game, it’s a great time to head down there before the weather really gets heated up!

  • Tuesday, June 10 - “Take Two” night. Buy one get one on specific concessions throughout the game

  • Wednesday, June 11 - Wet Nose Wednesday. Bring your dog to the game! It’s also White Claw Wednesday, with discounted White Claws through the 1st inning

6. 🛍️ Midland Commons & SFS Summer Market

Midland Commons is kicking off Summer with the first ever Street Food Saturdays Summer Market! Come check out an incredible lineup of 30+ local vendors, food trucks and even live music by Brendle Rambo Music from 12-2pm. It's the perfect way to spend a Saturday supporting local businesses and enjoying the warm weather. This event is family & pet-friendly
