Christmas Markets, The Nutcracker and Cars? - This Week's Events in Columbus

If you’re a foodie, this is an exciting week! Just yesterday, two new food spots opened in Columbus that are different from anything else we have. Over near Northside High School, NY Butcher Shoppe opened up, which is basically a high end butcher shoppe with a bar and restaurant inside. Over near the intersection of River Rd and Double Churches, Green Island Grocery just opened. Not only is this a small, upscale, local grocery store, but they have a full salad bar, sandwich shop, and hot food bar inside plus lots of other things! I swung by yesterday and check out these food options I saw. For events this week, no surprise, it’s Christmas everything. I did squeeze in one non-Christmas event, but even that one has a toy drive.

1.🎭 The Nutcracker

This is a holiday classic that needs no introduction. Featuring timeless music and stunning choreography, the Columbus Ballet presents its 2025 edition of The Nutcracker. If you aren’t familiar with the storyline, you’ll be taken to the Land of Snow where the main characters will dance with all the other toys that have come to life. It’s perfect for all ages, and its a classic for a reason.

2.🛍️ Merry Little Christmas Market at MC

Here’s another great event at Midland Commons. This is a cozy seasonal market featuring local vendors, handmade gifts, treats, and festive holiday shopping. Come knock out those final few Christmas gifts, or if you’re behind this year, get your Christmas shopping started in style!

3.🛍️ Bluebelle’s Santa Sale

This is Bluebelle’s most popular event of the year. A festive holiday market with free photos with Santa & your favorite green guy, plus seasonal gifts, food trucks, and outdoor vendors.

4.🚗 Motors & Mouths

If you’re looking for something that isn’t Christmas themed, I do at least have one event for you. How about the quarterly Motors and Mouths car meet? This is a place to see tons of cool cars, hang out with your local community gathering, try some local food vendors, and if you’re up for it they also have a Toys for Tots donation drive.

5.🏙️ Highside Holiday Market

If the above shopping options weren’t enough for you, I have one more for the week. Highside Market is hosting their annual Holiday Market. Come join them for a festive day of shopping, treats and cheer. They’ll have local vendors, handmade gifts, seasonal foods and more. For those that haven’t been, it’s a really beautiful space and the Christmas decor just adds to that. You won’t regret swinging by!

6.🍽️ Nightmare Before Christmas Brunch

All that shopping will have you hungry, so here’s your excuse to stop and have a bite or two. The folks at Hudson’s have been killing it with themed dinners and brunches all year long, and they aren’t stopping just because the holidays are in full swing. Come step into a world where Halloween meets Christmas and Jack Skellington reigns supreme! You can expect themed brunch bites, spine-chilling sips and magical holiday cheer.
