Book of Mormon, Dinosaurs and K-Pop?! - This Week's Events in Columbus

October 2, 2025 Edition

Well, it’s October! The weather doesn’t exactly feel like it yet, but Halloween is just 4 weeks away. For those with kids, have they picked their Halloween costumes yet or are they still deciding? Respond and let me know! The events this week are a really nice mix of big, national shows and small, hyper-local activities. With it being the first weekend of the month, we have multiple concert series going on as well, so get outside and go listen to some live music!

Speaking of music, Taylor Swift releases a new album tomorrow, so let’s get to the events before I lose everybody’s attention.

Sponsored by The Bloom 2025

This week’s newsletter is sponsored by one of the best events of Fall, The Bloom 2025! The event is actually next weekend, but I wanted to give you readers an early heads up. If you haven’t previously heard of The Bloom, imagine a beautiful Garden Party from late afternoon through evening directly on the 14th St Pedestrian Bridge connecting us to Alabama. You can expect beautiful views high above the river, incredible decor, amazing people, live entertainment, vendors, food trucks and more. If you’ve been wanting to get dressed in your best and go to an event that makes you feel like you’re not in Columbus anymore, this is it!

This event is hosted by the nonprofit organization D’Bridge Inc, a 501(c)(3) organization that hosts great events to benefit the community and other local non-profits, so your ticket will be going to directly support the community and local causes. This year’s nonprofit partnership is New Horizons Behavioral Health.

1.🎭 The Book of Mormon

Here’s another major show at the RiverCenter. The New York Times calls this the “Best musical of this century”, while many others just flat out call it the funniest musical of all time. It’s a nine-time Tony Award Winner for a reason, so don’t miss your chance to see it. In case you haven’t heard of this one, you may want to check its content before bringing the full family along as it’s definitely not for kids. It’s here for one night only, so get your tickets now.

2.🦖 Dinosaur Adventure

Step back in time with life-sized dinosaurs, interactive exhibits, and family fun that brings prehistoric creatures to life. My boys went to this the last time it was in Columbus and had a great time. It’s definitely geared towards younger kids, but any dino-lover in your life will appreciate it.

4.🍽️ The Last Meal: A “Killer” Dining Experience

Hudson’s has been killing it with the themed dinners and brunches, and based on the posted event, this looks like one of their most popular ideas yet. This one takes you deep into the shadows of true crime as you eat your way through a four-course dinner inspired by infamous “last meals” of history’s most notorious serial killers. Expect four unforgettable courses, four eerie cocktail pairings, interactive photo opportunities and a haunting atmosphere.

On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, I should also mention that in honor of the aforementioned Taylor Swift, they’re doing a Life of a Showgirl Brunch all weekend for the new album release.

  • Location: Hudson’s at Main Street

  • Date: Friday, Oct. 3

  • Time: 6:00 PM

  • More Info: The Last Meal

Ok, you’ll either love this one or wonder what the heck I’m talking about. I get it, and K-Pop isn’t really my thing, but for those who don’t know, K-Pop Demon Hunter is a Netflix movie that’s their most watched of all time. Over 300 million views! It’s a massive hit, and this event will let the fans have their day!
